AICC

AICC is an early e-learning interoperability standard that defined how courses and LMS platforms communicate, predating SCORM.

AICC was developed by the Aviation Industry Computer-Based Training Committee to standardize how computer-based training content exchanges data with host platforms. It uses HACP (HTTP-based AICC Communication Protocol) to pass information such as completion and score between content and the LMS.

Although the committee dissolved and SCORM became more widely adopted, AICC remains in use in some legacy and regulated environments. Its HTTP-based approach can support content hosted on separate servers from the LMS.
